RECIPE: Dark Chocolate Banana ‘Ice Cream’

RECIPE: Dark Chocolate Banana 'Ice Cream'

Dark Chocolate Banana ‘Ice Cream’.  Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?

YES!

Chocolate + ice cream.  How can you go wrong?  Other than it sticking to my body, you can’t!

Love ice cream. Yum, yum, YUM!

But, what I love even more is this super healthy Dark Chocolate Ice Cream recipe I found at the Kitchn.  Now I can get my ‘ice cream’ fix without the overly sugary, empty calories.  Woot, woot!  (Yes, I just said, ‘Woot, woot!” 😛 )

WARNING!  If you’re going to try this ‘ice cream’ recipe, you have to go into it knowing it’s not going to taste just like real ice cream.  It pretty much tastes like cold bananas.  With chocolate.  I like bananas, so this isn’t an issue for me.  My daughter doesn’t care for bananas, so of course, she didn’t like this recipe too much.  Having said this, give it a try.  This recipe it quick, easy and it will satisfy your sweet tooth. Especially on a hot summer day!

Be sure to try this Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip, Honey & Banana ‘Ice Cream’ too! This is my favorite!

Now, let’s make some ice cream!

RECIPE: Dark Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients:

1-1/2 peeled medium bananas, sliced into coins and frozen until solid
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Blend bananas in food processor or electric chopper until thoroughly smashed into a smooth pulp, like mashed potatoes.

Add cocoa powder, milk and vanilla and mix thoroughly.

Remove from the food processor/chopper and place in a freezer-safe container.

Freeze until solid.

That's it!

As always, enjoy! 🙂

The picture of your chocolate banana ice cream made me drool. I have tried a banana split on several occasions but never with dark chocolate ice cream. The recipe seems interesting and I will probably try it this weekend.
