Chocolate Covered Cheez-Its

I made Chocolate Covered Cheez-Its! Yup, you read it right – Chocolate Covered Cheez-Its! I know, I’m weird! Haha! But hey, who says Chocolate and Cheez-Its don’t go together anyway?
Trust me, they do! And they’re so quick and easy to make too! LOVE that!

Simply melt chocolate. You can use chocolate chips or a chocolate bar, it doesn’t matter.
Hint: I use dark chocolate when dipping items. It’s healthier because it has less cocoa butter (fat) and because of this it doesn’t melt in your hands as quickly as milk or white chocolate does!
So, let’s make some Chocolate Covered Cheez-Its!

Place a Cheez-It in your melted chocolate, completely covering it in chocolate using a spoon. Lift the Cheez-It from the chocolate.
I really like using Wilton’s Candy Dipping Set for most of my chocolate-dipping experiments – less chance for chocolate blobs under the dipped items because of the wide-spaced fork!

Place each chocolate-covered Cheez-It on parchment or wax paper, or even a Silpat Non-Stick Baking Mat as seen above. I LOVE my Silpat mats, by the way! If you’re using a dipping tool, the trick is to set the edge of the Cheez-It that is furthest from the dipping handle onto the mat first. Once the Cheez-It edge touches the surface, slide the dipping tool out from under the cracker as you lower the rest of it onto the surface.
Repeat until all Cheez-Its are covered in chocolate!
Chill in the refrigerator until set – approximately 10 min.

And there you have it – Chocolate Covered Cheez-Its!
A quick, easy and semi-healthy chocolate covered treat! In moderation, of course!
Enjoy!

That’s OK, I was thinking the same, then though, why the heck not? HAHA!
Why not? I mean, people love chocolate covered potato chips, so why not chocolate covered cheez its? I stumble discovered and pinned this post.

I agree, Virginia! Thanks SO much for the Stumble and Pin!!!
I used to eat cheez its and those chocolate covered peanut butter bars all the time, this sounds delicious. Maybe even spread a little pb on it and then cover it.
