RECIPE: Quadruple Chocolate Ice Cream Cake

Yup, it’s as good as it looks – Quadruple Chocolate Ice Cream Cake!
It’s easy to make too!

Buy some ice cream. Any flavors! Get a spring form pan. Any size! I decided to to Dreyer’s Chocolate, Chocolate Chip and my absolute favorite – Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup! Holy crap is that AWESOME!!!!!!

Fill 1/3 of your springform pan with your first ice cream flavor. Keep in mind you be flipping this onto a plate, so this is actually your top layer. So if you care about the order of your flavor, keep this in mind!

I found using my hand was the best way to smash the ice cream down and smooth it. I just about froze my hand off, byt hey, that’s what hot water is for! Place in freezer until mostly set – about 1 hour or possibly more depending on your freezer.

Next, add your second ice cream flavor.

And freeze your hands off again to smash and smooth it down. Freeze until firm-ish, but it doesn’t need to be super hard.

And finally, the last layer of ice cream. YAY!
Freeze!

Remove from the freezer and flip it over onto your serving plate. Like my el cheapo plate? HA! Then, pop the spring on your springform pan. Having never owned a springform pan (yes, it’s true!), I didn’t know to slide the metal parts out more to open the form wider.
That’s why it looked like this…

Talk about a flop, huh? Crap!

That’s OK! I’ll just smooth it out with my fingers! What the heck, right?

Then I got the bright idea to “disguise” my springform pan error with…
MORE CHOCOLATE! Chocolate shavings, that is!
Muhahahahahaha!!!

YUM!

See! You can’t really tell the ice cream cake is a bit smeared under there, can you?

Success! A gorgeous and absolutely out of this world Quadruple Chocolate Ice Cream Cake!
It’s just about the best ice cream cake I’ve ever had. DUH, it’s ALL Chocolate!
As always, ENJOY!

Oh my, it’s like someone in chocolate heaven answered my prayers! We must be soul sisters because 1) I don’t own a spring pan, 2) we have the same favorite ice cream flavor, and 3) I *love* the chocolate shavings on top!
