REVIEW: Endangered Species Dark Chocolate Covered Hazelnut Toffee

Endangered Species ChocolateOK, let me first start off by getting something off my chest.

After I ate the first piece of Endangered Species Chocolate‘s Dark Chocolate Covered Hazelnut Toffee, I practically inhaled 3/4 of its contents.  I couldn’t help it!

I love Dark Chocolate.

I love toffee.

I was doomed from the get-go.

Can you see why???

What yummy little bit-sized treats!

I’m not sure if these are supposed to be beat up a little and covered in Chocolate crumbs, but this is exactly how they looked when I dumped them out on the plate.  They were packaged really well when they were shipped to me.  Who cares anyway?  It certainly didn’t stop me from trying them.

Look at that Dark Chocolate!  And toffee!  Did I mention I love Dark Chocolate and toffee?

Endangered Species has done a very nice job of blending the 72% cocoa, hazelnut and toffee flavors.  The Dark Chocolate is smooth enough that it doesn’t overpower the toffee.  In fact, I’d have to say the ratio of Dark Chocolate to toffee flavors are pretty much 50/50!

I seriously couldn’t stop eating these little Chocolate bites of heaven.  I kept popping them into my mouth like popcorn.  Only these are way better than popcorn. WAY BETTER!

After sampling these Chocolates I grew curious, as always, about the company that made them.  I discovered that Endangered Species Chocolate is a unique Chocolate company based in Indianapolis, Indiana.  They are a for-profit company on a mission. Each year they donate 10% of their net profits to organizations that support species, habitat and humanity. These donations help ensure the cacao farmers in Ecuador are given ethical wages and work conditions.  They also donate Chocolate to organizations in Indianapolis, Indiana. So one could say their focus is on creating positive change – globally and locally.  🙂

They certainly created a positive change for me!  I was in my happy Chocolate place!  I highly recommend you try Endangered Species Chocolates if you ever get the chance.  I promise your Chocoholic cravings will be satisfied.  I just wish I had some more… RIGHT NOW!!! But noooo, I had to go and eat them all… already!!!

Note: I received one package of Endangered Species Chocolate for review.  Opinions expressed are my own.
