The Picky Eater

picky eaterI can’t stand picky eaters!  I can’t relate to them, am bored by them and want them to just shut up and eat!

My daughter is a picky eater.  Wouldn’t that be my luck.

She loves bread, butter, bacon fat, cheese, more bread, noodles, potatoes.  You get the idea.  All the wrong foods.  All the foods that are high in fat and refined sugars, making a person crave more of it.

And to top it off, getting her to drink milk is also a daily struggle. “It tastes gross mom! Can I have a pop?”

Sigh.

What to do?

Yell and scream? Or worse yet, bribe the kids with junk food if they eat their veggies?  I don’t think so!

But I’ve done this. My husband has done this. What parent hasn’t?

Every once in a while my husband and I make some progress in getting her to eat better.  Like adding bacon to the green beans or buying plain whole wheat bread instead of the kind with nuts mixed in it, “EWWW MOM!” Or putting a mixed nut/trail mix in her lunch.

Still, it’s a daily struggle.

I know we aren’t the only parents dealing with a picky eater.  I’d LOVE to hear any tips or tricks you have to get my daughter to eat better.  Bring it on!  I’m ready for your advice.  PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
