Review: SewFunBek’s Penny Doll

Last month I had the fortunate opportunity of stumbling across a picture of Rebekah Soriano’s crotched Penny Dolls on one of my friend’s Facebook pages. Upon seeing the thumbnail photo, I instantly thought the little crocheted dolls were cute!
Rebekah makes and sells these dolls as well as many other handmade items over at her Etsy shop, SewFunBek. After checking out all the wonderful pictures of her dolls, I decided to order a few for my nieces, daughter and myself (I know, I’m too old for a doll, but they are SO cute I couldn’t pass it up).
From my initial contact with Rebekah, I quickly discovered she has impeccable customer service. She’s quick to answer your questions, assist you with yarn colors and help you design just the right look for your Penny Doll. She even sent me several emails with snapshots of the yarn colors I found tremendously helpful!
When Rebekah claims her dolls are “custom made”, she isn’t kidding.
I ordered the five Penny Dolls shown above and just received them yesterday. It was a big order and after seeing Rebekah’s awesome workmanship (actually, workWOMANship), they were well worth the wait (just over two weeks).
These dolls are absolutely adorable! They are also very sturdy and not flimsy little rag dolls.
Here’s a few more photos so you can see for yourself the workmanship and detail Rebekah puts into each and every doll.

Rebekah’s attention to detail is absolutely refreshing. I, myself, have a very anaylitcal mind that causes me to get caught up in the most nit-picky of details. Judging from the look and feel of her Penny Dolls, Rebekah has this same attention to detail.
This is a good thing!
The dolls I ordered for my nieces will be part of their Christmas presents. I hope I can wait that long before giving them! My daughter absolutely loves hers.
I highly recommend Rebekah Soriano’s Penny Dolls and suggest you visit her Etsy shop, SewFunBek. She makes a lot more than these dolls.
