Oh No! You’re All Muddy!
What kid doesn’t like to play in the mud? While my 10-year-old daughter’s friends are busy texting their friends and listening to Miley Cyrus music, my daughter still loves to play in the dirt and mud.
I think it’s important for parents to let their kids be kids for as long as possible. Today’s kids grow up way too fast. Hormones start kicking in at a much younger age than when I was younger and because of that, I feel sorry for them. After all, who wants to grow up? Not me! I’ll forever be a kid at heart.
So when our daughter says to my husband and I, “I’m going out in the front yard to play in my garden. Can I turn the water hose on?”, I always smile with joy and say, “Yes!” I love that she still enjoys the simple things in life.
LESSON LEARNED: Who cares about the dirt and mud, that’s what soap and water are for!
